VFB Preset Usage

I have a couple of questions regarding the use of VFB presets.

  1. Are the VFB presets applied post render? Does this affect render count?
  2. Can different VFB presets be applied to individual layers or are they applied to final layer composite?

The VFB is always applied on a per-layer basis at render time, AFTER the render is completed. Thus, they do not contribute to the render count, but the result is baked into the image, so it can’t be changed after the render without re-rendering the image.
You can change the VFB being applied to a particular layer using the Layer condition inside a rule in your scene, then using the setProperty action to change the vfb.
